Source NetApp document is here.
port = physical interface
interface = logical interface (LIF)
Simple steps:
- Log in to the cluster’s first node/vserver via it’s RLM
ssh admin@<node1>-mgt
system console
- Enter advanced mode (you may have to do this each time you connect directly to a physical node)
set -privilege advanced
- Disable all of the cluster’s cluster interfaces’ -auto-revert setting
network interface modify -vserver <node1> -lif <cluster interface 1> -auto-revert false
network interface modify -vserver <node1> -lif <cluster interface 2> -auto-revert false
network interface modify -vserver <node2> -lif <cluster interface 1> -auto-revert false
network interface modify -vserver <node2> -lif <cluster interface 2> -auto-revert false
- Migrate the first cluster interface from it’s home port to the home port of the second cluster interface. This has to be done directly from the vserver’s management interface (reason for first point above)
network interface migrate -vserver <node1> -lif <cluster interface 1> -source-node <node1> -destination-node <node1> -destination-port <cluster port 2>
- Disable vserver’s first cluster port
network port modify -node <node1> -port <cluster port 1> -up-admin false
- Log in to the cluster’s second node/vserver via it’s RLM, migrate the interface and down it’s port:
ssh admin@<node2>-mgt
system console
set -privilege advanced
network interface migrate -vserver <node2> -lif <cluster interface 1> -source-node <node2> -destination-node <node2> -destination-port <cluster port 2>
network port modify -node <node2> -port <cluster port 1> -up-admin false
- Cable the cluster interface ports from each other head to preconfigured switch ports
- Enable and revert first vserver’s first cluster port
ssh admin@<node1>-mgt
system console
network port modify -node <node1> -port <cluster port 1> -up-admin true
network interface revert -vserver <node1> -lif <cluster interface 1>
- Enable and revert second vserver’s first cluster port
ssh admin@<node2>-mgt
system console
network port modify -node <node2> -port <cluster port 1> -up-admin true
network interface revert -vserver <node2> -lif <cluster interface 1>
- Verify that the interfaces moved and the migrated ports are up with:
network interface show -role cluster
network port show -role cluster
cluster show
- Repeat the above steps for the second cluster interfaces
ssh admin@<node1>-mgt
system console
set -privilege advanced
network interface migrate -vserver <node1> -lif <cluster interface 2> -source-node <node1> -destination-node <node1> -destination-port <cluster port 1>
network port modify -node <node1> -port <cluster port 2> -up-admin falsessh admin@<node2>-mgt
system console
set -privilege advanced
network interface migrate -vserver <node2> -lif <cluster interface 2> -source-node <node2> -destination-node <node2> -destination-port <cluster port 1>
network port modify -node <node2> -port <cluster port 2> -up-admin false
<re-cable ports>
ssh admin@<node1>-mgt
system console
network port modify -node <node1> -port <cluster port 2> -up-admin true
network interface revert -vserver <node1> -lif <cluster interface 2>ssh admin@<node2>-mgt
system console
network port modify -node <node2> -port <cluster port 2> -up-admin true
network interface revert -vserver <node2> -lif <cluster interface 2>
network interface show -role cluster
network port show -role cluster
cluster show
- Disable Switchless cluster configuration
network options switchless-cluster modify -enabled false
network options switchless-cluster show
- Enable all cluster interface -auto-revert
network interface modify -vserver <node1> -lif <cluster interface 1> -auto-revert true
network interface modify -vserver <node1> -lif <cluster interface 2> -auto-revert true
network interface modify -vserver <node2> -lif <cluster interface 1> -auto-revert true
network interface modify -vserver <node2> -lif <cluster interface 2> -auto-revert true
- Double check cluster
cluster show
set -privilege advanced
cluster ping-cluster local
Thanks for the simple steps! Worked great.
great to hear, glad it helped
